We are LIVE!

Ladies and gentlemen, we are LIVE (http://www.lekssandco.com)! The website is finally up and running! We are still working out a few kinks here and there, but for the most part everything is running smoothly and as planned. And, we would also like to announce a new addition to our line of of bracelets for a cause, we are also presenting a set of men’s bracelets as well. I haven’t seen any production samples in person, but from the pictures Alexis has sent around, the look to be made of quality leather. They look pretty slick to me, and should be priced competitively. Remember those bracelets decorated with Swarovski crystals we were talking about last time? The line has come out and is now available for purchase on our website as well! As for new things in the works, we are currently doing a line of men’s watches; pictures of the prototypes are on our Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LekssandCo). If anything new comes up, you all shall be the first to know!

Until then, Cheers!

Joe

So, How Did This All Begin Anyways?

Honestly, that’s a really good question. Most of it I really don’t know myself, but I’m going to do my best to fill y’all in on the last four or so years the whole Le’Kss idea has been around. That and some history of other collaborations the owner and I have had over the years. Here goes.

So I met Alexis in my sophomore year of high school. I didn’t have a clue of who she was. I really got to know her in my English class that year, but the friendship didn’t really get too deeply involved. It wasn’t until 2 years later when we were both in yearbook class together that the ball would really get rolling. At the time I had just broken up with my then girlfriend. Alexis was one of the few people I felt I could talk to about it. I know, I know what does this sappy ass story have to do with that slick new garter I just bought? Don’t rush me! I’m getting to that.

In an effort to help me get over the break up, she and I would go to coffee and talk. A lot. So in our many coffee nights, we would rehash old ideas of how that girl I used to date was a witch and how old fashioned her parents were and all that jazz. But interspersed within those moments were the beginnings of our book. You see, instead of Le’Kss, she and I were originally going to write a book about our high school experiences. This, fortunately for you fashion lovers, never came to pass.

Somewhere down the line, the idea was presented that either her, I, or both of us should start a clothing line. I had already done something in that vain but never followed through with it. As a side note, to all those who bought an Iconic Clothing shirt, THANK YOU. Anyways, the book idea was shelved and the clothing line took center stage. She and I would often talk of what we would have in our line, where we would have our storefront, what markets we wanted to target, things of the like. Then, almost suddenly, she said that all the things that we had talked about were becoming a reality. With the help of her parents, she had built the foundation for Le’Kss & Co.

From there, life took over for both her and I. Freshman year of college can do that to a person. It happens I suppose. Fast forward to October 2010. Alexis called me up and asked that I do a photo shoot for her fashion line. To be honest, I was intimidated. I had never done a shoot like this before. She had attractive models, a solid product, and she gave me the task of making it all look good. A tall order? Kind of. Fortunately for me, the photos came out well, which means I get to keep my job ;)

As of now, we are still waiting on the webpage to launch. Regardless, we are still burnin’ the midnight oil to bring you the next big thing. As always. We are currently looking to add pearls to the line and a limited selection of “Bracelets For a Cause” encrusted with Swarovski Crystals. That’s all the news you get for now my dears! Can’t give away too much, you know.

Until then, Cheers!

Joe

P.S someday we are going to write that book.

Turning Over the Blog. You Still Can’t Tell the Owner.

Alright so, there has been a slight change of plan. The blog is being turned over to me, Joe, the photographer for Le’Kss. Happy day! In any case, the same rules still apply, my unnamed and faceless cohort and I have concluded that if the owner knows about the blog we’d probably be fired. Maybe. So don’t tell her! Please and thank you.

Anyways, this is my first blog post and I have nothing to say, mostly because the last post says it all. As in, all I’m actually allowed to say that is. Legally. Regardless, I’m excited to be apart of this whole thing and I have a lot of faith in our leading lady to get this show on the road! If anything comes up, as always, y’all shall be the first to know.

Until then, Cheers!

Joe

Remember those photos that I said were coming real soon? Well here they are!

Welcome to the Le’Kss Family

Currently Listening to: “The Fame Monster” – Lady GaGa

Alright ladies and gentlemen, this here is genesis. Our first blog post! Well, sort of. Like the title says, this is really only “semi-official;” so don’t tell the owner! I’d get shot, or something equally hurtful.

Anyways, this blog is to give people some insight on what goes on behind the scenes at Le’Kss. The boring, mundane shit that goes on day to day; the things that keep our corporate heads above water. Currently, not really too much to report, we’re waiting on our shipment of pearls for our line of necklaces and for our website to finally launch, for the second and (hopefully) final time. All in good time right? As for the garters and watches, they are good to go and are currently on sale.

So a couple weekends ago we had our first company photo shoot at the LA County Museum of Art (LACMA). I know, I know, an art museum? Well, sorta. Since our photographer isn’t the most, how shall I say this nicely, professional, we needed an outdoor, urban setting with lots of light. At night. With little to no foot traffic. That kind of thing is a little hard to come by in Hollywood at 9:00 pm on a Saturday night. Luckily our photographer, Joe, has shot at LACMA before and recommended it for our shoot. Photos will be posted soon! We are really impressed with them, hopefully you are too.

That’s about it thus far. We are thinking of having a photo shoot with in the next couple of week and are looking to get the web page online around the same timeframe.

Welcome to the Le’Kss family!

Cheers
